Your first Sunday

Plan Your Visit

Here’s exactly what to expect on a Sunday morning, from the parking lot to the lobby afterward.

Arrival

From the Parking Lot to the Welcome Desk

  1. Parking

There are no designated visitor spots — pull into any available spot.

  2. Which Door

Everyone enters through the glass doors to the left of the large glass window at the front of the building. You’ll know the main lobby by its big glass windows with the cross.

  3. Walking In

The welcome desk is straight ahead in the lobby.

  4. Greeters

Greeters wear name tags and will personally walk you wherever you need to go.

  5. Running Late?

No problem — same entrance, same welcome desk, and someone will be there to help.

Checking in Your Children

  1. To the Left of the Welcome Desk

The first time, we collect basic information — name, address, emergency contact, and any medical needs. It takes a few minutes.

  2. You Receive a Security Code

A staff member walks with you to drop your child off the first time, so everyone gets where they’re going.

  3. Release, and Reaching You Mid-Service

Children are released only to a parent with the security code. If we need you during the service, we’ll call your phone or a staff member will find you in the service.

Childcare is available during both the 9:15 Fellowship Group hour and the worship service.

For the safety of our children and volunteers, we require all children and volunteers be checked in to our system every week. This ensures an accurate count of all attendees in case of an emergency.

Sunday morning

Sunday by the Clock

Arriving at 9:00 leaves plenty of time. Arriving any time between 9:15 and 10:00 is still fine to join a group.

  1. 9:15

    Fellowship Groups Begin

Groups for every age and stage. A greeter will walk you to one.

  2. After 10:00

    Head to the Lobby

Coffee is available in the lobby, there’s time to meet the ministers and pastors, and it’s a good moment to find a seat in the sanctuary before worship.

  3. 10:30

    Worship Begins

Singing, Scripture reading, and the preaching of God’s Word.

  4. Noon

    Service Ends

Most people move to the lobby afterward, which is a good place to talk.

The service

What Happens in the Room

The order of a normal Sunday, so nothing surprises you.

  1. 01Worship
  2. 02Scripture reading
  3. 03Announcements
  4. 04More worship
  5. 05Offertory prayer
  6. 06Usually a choir special
  7. 07The message — 30 minutes to an hour, depending on the other elements

Things a Newcomer May Not Expect

  • An offering plate is passed.
  • Communion is quarterly.
  • Hymnals are in the seats and the words are also on screen — use whichever is comfortable.
  • There is typically an invitation toward the end of the service — a time to respond to what the Lord is doing and to talk with one of the pastors.
An open hymnal turned to “O the Deep, Deep Love of Jesus.”
Afterward

Stay a While

Most people move to the lobby, which is a good place to talk. The pastors are near the welcome center and are glad to talk with anyone. If it’s your first visit, stop by the welcome desk for a gift.

The Small Things People Ask About

What to wear

Whatever you normally would wear. We have some that wear full suit and tie and we have others that wear flip flops, shorts, and a t-shirt.

Visitor gift

Yes — at the welcome desk after the service. We’ll ask for basic contact information so we can follow up.

Accessibility

The building is fully ADA accessible and wheelchair-accessible parking is available. Hearing assistance is available — stop by the sound booth by 10:25 on Sunday mornings.

What We’d Ask of You

Before your visit, let us know you’re coming so we can be prepared for you. After your visit, leave your contact information so we have the chance to talk with you.

Fellowship Groups, briefly

Most People Visit Worship First — and That’s Completely Fine

The 9:15 groups aren’t lecture classes. They’re communities you belong to — the way a large church becomes small. There are groups for every age and stage of life, and a greeter can walk you straight to one.

Not sure which group is right for you? Stop by and see one of our greeters when you arrive, and we’ll be happy to help you find a group.
